Scattered Sites Housing

(Return to list)

Kearney Housing Agency owns 54 two, three, and four bedroom houses in Kearney. House size is based on the number of household members.

Residents pay 30 percent of their adjusted gross income for rent. All residents must pay for their own utilities, which include electricity and natural gas. However, residents are given a utility allowance, which results in a reduction in the monthly rent.

Residents in the Scattered Sites program are required to maintain their own homes in a safe and sanitary condition. Scattered Sites residents are responsible for lawn care and snow removal.

Scattered Sites residents also have the opportunity to enroll in the Kearney Housing Agency’s Family Self Sufficiency Rewards Program, which includes goal setting and encouraging financial independence for housing residents.
